The Foundation of New York State Nurses Center for Nursing Research Planning Committee announces the annual call for applications and nominations for its major opportunities for recognition in nursing research.
Distinguished Nurse Researcher Award: Members of the New York State Nurses Association are eligible for nomination for the Distinguished Nurse Researcher awarded by the Foundation of New York State Nurses. Nominations must be received my May 1, 2008.

Novice Nurse Researcher Award: Recognizing excellence in nursing research by a novice researcher. Applicants must be NYSNA member and licensed RN who is doctorally prepared and has obtained at least one degree in nursing; you may have no more than three research-based publications in referred journals; and you may have received, as principal investigator, no more than $15,000 in postdoctoral extramural funding in one particular research area.

Nursing Research Fellowship: The Nursing Research Fellowship, sponsored by the New York State Nurses Association is open to NYSNA members who possess a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and wish to gain knowledge and experience about research in New York State and who wish to benefit from a mentor to guide their research and evidence based practice related efforts.

Evidence-Based Practice Award: Recognizing outstanding work in healthcare organizations that have planned and implemented evidence-based practice projects within the past two years. Projects implemented within the past five years and re-evaluated within the past two years are also eligible. Eligibility for the award requires one of the project leaders must be a registered nurse; also, one of the leaders should be a NYSNA member in good standing.
